|  | Situated in “old Surabaya”, this stately Dutch colonial style compound was built in 1858 and is now a preserved historical site.
The building that now serves as the museum was surplus to requirements when Sampoerna first purchased the factory, and so was turned into a theater. Charlie Chaplin performed there some time in 1932, and it was here that the future president Sukarno made speeches in 1932. The museum is laid out over two floors. The first floor is a series of galleries covering the history of the family, the company and memorabilia from the company's early days.
Previously used as an orphanage managed by the Dutch, it was purchased in 1932 by Liem Seeng Tee, the founder of Sampoerna, with the intent of it being used as Sampoerna's first major cigarette production facility.
This complex consisted of a wide central auditorium, two smaller buildings in east wing and occidental and some wide barns with one floor behind central auditorium. The buildings that stay in both auditorium wings is then turned into family house, whereas big barns looks like a warehouse exploited for tobacco and clove processing, to catch, stick it and packing, printing office and finished goods processor.
Today, the compound is still functioning as a production plant for Indonesia's most prestigious cigarette, Dji Sam Soe. In commemoration of Sampoerna's 90th anniversary in 2003, the central complex has been painstakingly restored and is now open to public.
The original central auditorium is now a museum and the east side has been transformed into a unique structure containing a café, a merchandise kiosk and an arts gallery. The building on the west side remains the official family residence.
Museum House of Sampoerna (HoS) Museum offers a truly unique experience for visitors. From the story of the founding family to closely watching a real hand roll production facility and ending up with an unforgettable experience of rolling a stick of Dji Sam Soe cigarette. You can join 3,900 women in this plant, hand-rolling cigarettes using traditional equipment. They do it at a speed of more that 325 stick per hour.

|  | Sempu, an irregularly-shaped island four km across at its widest point, lies approximately 50 km south of the Malang. The channel, roughly 0.5 km wide, runs from southwest to northeast between Sempu and the mainland. Sendangbru, a small fishing village, is located on the mainland at the southwestern end of the channel; it lies in the shadow-zone of Sempu Island and hence is protected from the typical swell of the Indian Ocean.
Spanning from east to west over 3,9 kilometers, with beaches that are aligned with step and lime caved cliffs. That is, at a glance, this picture of Sempu Island located in the eastern part of Java Island. Pulau(Island) Sempu is located about 70 km from Malang City,East Java.
Technically this Island is a Nature Reservation – Natural Conservation Area. No population…except wildlife ..Deer, Panthers, Black Monkey, Crabs, etc …and on that time…Sugar Delta Indonesia animals …!!! Of course there is no electricity ….!
The other uniqueness that can be found on this island, is existence of two lakes, the Lele and Segara Anakan. A variety of colourful decorative fish can be found in abundance. Those lakes can be covered on foot in two hours hiking.

|  | The beach possessing three islands with distance of about one hundred meters each, two of which have been connected with one meter-wide bridge to the shore, Balekambang offers a different atmosphere of beach resorts in the Southern part of Malang. One of the three islands called Ismoyo island has a Hindu temple, established by local Hinduists.
Annually, the ritual and traditional ceremonies Jalanidhipuja (Hindu ceremony) and Suran (Javanese New Year ceremony) are held here every year. The parking area, stalls, inns, souvenir shops, and the others tourism facilities has provided for the visitors. This beautiful beach is located at Srigonco village, Bantur district, about 57 km away to the south from Malang and accessible by public transportation.
Visit Balekambang Beach tourism and enjoy its wonderfull waves with softe sea wind. Watch the sunset and sunrise in this beach and do some of beach activities, such as; swimming, sun bathing, fishing, etc.
